You’re the guardian of quality at coi, making sure every Shopify store we build is flawless. As our QA Lead, you’ll lead a team of QA engineers in our Zagreb office, ensuring each project meets the highest standards of functionality and polish. This is a hands-on leadership role – one moment you might be rolling up your sleeves to test a new storefront feature, and the next you’re coaching your team or refining a QA process.

In this fast-paced, creative environment, you’ll bring order to our QA strategy and introduce smarter ways of working. Think smarter regression testing routines, implementing test automation, or even leveraging AI to squash bugs faster. You’re not just checking boxes; you’re setting the bar for quality. What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)

Lead the QA Team: Manage, mentor, and inspire a team of QA engineers in Zagreb, while planning for team growth as the company scales.

Hands-On Testing: Perform manual testing of Shopify storefronts and apps – ensuring user interfaces are pixel-perfect and every feature works smoothly across different devices and browsers.

QA Process Ownership: Develop and refine QA processes and standards from scratch. Create test plans, define regression testing routines, and make sure we catch issues early in the development cycle.

Innovate with Tools: Introduce new tools and approaches to improve quality, whether it’s implementing automated testing suites, experimenting with AI-powered testing, or finding smarter ways to do regression tests.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with developers, project managers, and designers to integrate testing into the development process, acting as the go-to person for all things quality and ensuring each project meets all functional and design requirements before launch.

Quality Champion: Foster a company-wide culture of quality by setting a high quality bar, owning the definition of “done” for deliverables, and ensuring that best practices are followed in every project.

What You Bring (Requirements & Qualities)

Experience: 3+ years in software QA, ideally in web or e-commerce (bonus points if you’ve worked with Shopify or similar e-commerce platforms).

Leadership Skills: Some experience leading or mentoring others. You enjoy helping team members grow and can take charge of projects or small teams; if you haven’t officially been a lead before, you have the drive and confidence to step up.

Hands-On Approach: Willingness to dive into testing yourself, with a keen eye for UI/UX details to spot inconsistencies or bugs that others might miss.

Initiative & Ownership: Decisive and self-driven – when you see a problem or an opportunity for improvement, you take the initiative to drive it forward without waiting for direction.

Adaptability: Comfortable in a fast-moving environment where processes are still evolving – you can handle change and ambiguity, and you thrive when given the chance to create structure out of chaos.

Tech Curiosity: Curious about tools, technology, and automation (maybe you’ve dabbled with Selenium, Cypress, or even explored AI in testing), and you love finding ways to make QA more efficient and effective.

Quality Mindset: Above all, you have a true passion for quality – you care about user experience and believe that a great product must be both beautiful and bug-free.
